Watch Kyle Crane Enter Beast Mode & Drive in Dying Light: The Beast

Instructions

This summer brought a mix of emotions to Dying Light fans. The bad news was that the much-anticipated DLC for Dying Light 2 wouldn't be arriving after all. However, the good news was that a whole new standalone game was on the way, and it was free for those who had already purchased the Dying Light 2: Ultimate Edition.

Introducing Dying Light: The Beast

The game, starring the hero of the original Dying Light, Kyle Crane, has now taken center stage. At The Game Awards this evening, we got our first glimpse of the menacing villain, The Baron. This sadistic figure has been subjecting Crane to horrifying experiments. As expected, the madness of science went awry, and Crane transformed into beast mode. As franchise director Tymon Smektala informed us back in August, we can now explore the world where Crane will seek his vengeance and the vehicle he'll be driving.Just like in Dying Light's DLC The Following, The Beast is set in a more rural environment rather than a massive city. This provides ample space to zoom around in a 4×4. Why rely on your feet to kick zombies when you can use the accelerator to run over a group of them at once?Of course, parkour enthusiasts won't be disappointed. While there may not be as many skyscrapers and office buildings to play around on, there are still narrow alleys and brick buildings to climb and wall-run across. And naturally, there are plenty of creative melee weapons to use in smashing zombie heads.Next summer, Dying Light: The Beast will make its grand entrance. In the meantime, you can check out its page on Steam and stay updated with the latest news and deals picked by the PC Gamer team.
