Impact on the Affected Apartment

Video footage vividly shows water gushing out from the building, causing extensive flooding in multiple units. Alicia Simmons, who lives in the apartment where the valve broke, was informed by the fire department that her place is now uninhabitable. She expressed her frustration as the management at the apartment has failed to offer alternative housing or any viable solutions. "What else can a mother do when she's in such a helpless situation and can't take care of her babies due to something she had no part in? It's truly heartbreaking," she said.

Consequences for Other Residents

Other units also suffered from the flood, and the affected residents shared similar sentiments. One resident below stated, "They haven't even bothered to call. I can't stay here." This shows the widespread impact of the water line break.

Attempts to Reach Apartment Management

FOX 26 made numerous efforts to get in touch with the apartment management to hear their side of the story. However, the only response they received was a demand to leave their property. Simmons, in particular, initially just wanted the management to help her find another apartment. But now, she firmly believes that they should be held responsible for the actions of the maintenance man who damaged her home. "At first, I just needed their assistance in getting a new place. Now, it's about them taking responsibility for the mess they've created," she added.
