CHAS Health is a non-profit, federally qualified health center (FQHC) that provides high-quality medical, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral health services to families and individuals of all ages, regardless of insurance status.
The Dental Assistant Apprenticeship Program is a 1-year (2,000 hour) on-the-job training program offered by CHAS Health to train an individual on how to become a qualified, registered Dental Assistant. Apprentices will be employed full-time by CHAS Health while completing relevant courses, including homework and mandatory lab days. Upon successful completion of the program, Dental Assistants will transition into a regular, full-time position.
Throughout the program, apprentices will work with their coaches and team to practice hands-on clinical skills in a dental office. The coaches will support and mentor the apprentice and ensure each skill is mastered.In addition to the clinical work, there will be 8 days of lab time where instructors will deliver lessons, review practical skills, help improve techniques, and answer questions as scheduled. Homework and lab obligations are unpaid.
