Post-operative care is crucial for the success of a hair transplant. Patients are advised to follow their surgeon's instructions carefully, which may include avoiding strenuous activities, not touching or scratching the transplanted area, and using prescribed medications. It is normal to see some shedding of newly transplanted hairs in the initial weeks, but new growth typically begins within three to six months. The final results of the transplant become fully apparent after about a year.
